The BOE kit will be available from lazarsmith.com (please be patient guys - new site probably won't be up 'til Monday)
It's designed to release the pressure that would otherwise blow out a freeze plug w/o dumping the coolant overboard, while providing immediate in-cab notification of the event... yet still conserving the ejected coolant for later re-incorporation into the radiator.
The BOE system is able to be adjusted, but we will initially offer it in "one size fits all", as the blowout phenomenon should be occuring under similiar operating conditions regardless of what vintage CTD it's installed on.
It should change the freeze plug blowout issue from a major PITA/minor disaster to a virtually seamless driving event - like backing out of WOT when the pyro makes you nervous...

No need to change anything, Chris!
The BOE is designed to be transparent to the rest of the engine; doesn't matter if you have old or new freeze plugs, block-off plate, different t'stat, twins, whatever...
After the beta BOE is installed on the '05, I'll ask for input for the final kit parts package - even though the BOE is a passive system (requiring no driver input) - I envision a range of preferences for the system's Notice Of Event feature. For instance, my truck will have an unobtrusive visual alarm, but others may choose a sonic alarm as well (the equivalent of )
... remember, just say N.O.E. to freeze plug blowouts!
