My $0.02...
I bought a triple dog with outlook monitor and was suprised at how small the unit really is. It appears large in the pics, but is about the size of your palm. I installed a set of mechanical gauges and would much prefer to see the large dials than a small 3in screen. Although the monitor gives you more functions (change programs on the fly, etc), I really like the large dials.
Plus the mech makes your truck look bada$$...
