Which Guages do I need??
Hello, lots of good information...but bad on pocket book.
Anyways, wanting to get guages for 06 but not sure of which 3. How important is the tranny guage with the 6spd? I am thinking of the 60 boost guage, pryo, and either the fuel pressure or temp tranny.
Also, has anybody seen an in dash mount for the 06/07 yet? I think there would be room down low, but haven't seen anything on any sites yet. Thanks.

I don't know if you have added power or you are in the future. My buddy has the edge juice with attitude and it is simply cool. It will tell you alot more stuff than the other gages do and you don't have to drill any holes or by any other mounts for it. In my opinion, It's very neet and works flawless. Deffinantly worth looking into.

If you don't already have a box. Do not waste you money on gauges. Buy a box with gauges built in. You get more bang for your buck. Not sure about your tranny. But I don't think 6spds get that hot. They don't have all those clutches like an auto that would heat up fast. But you never know with towing and performance mods

Motor is stock, for now. Thinking of going the Smarty route though. Reading through this, it seems the guages are more accurate than the digital stuff from Edge and the like. And I'm thinking I would still have to drill for pyro even with the Edge monitor? Thanks again.

I run the Commander and I can tell you installation is much easier than analog gauges (I had a set that I sent back) and every bit as accurate. And for less than $400, including additional fuel pressure package, you can monitor 7 functions (4 visible at any one time). And down the road you can expand with things like a turbo timer by just plugging in a wiring harness. Best bang for the buck if you ask me.

I prefer analog gauges because you know what is going on, not what the computer thinks. If you go with a Smarty you are going to need a fuel pressure gauge, at least before the CP3. If you don't want to spend $300 on a gauge you can get a low FP light from BD for like $60.
Trans temp is irrelevant on a manual. If it got hot you couldnt do anyhting anyways.
Pyro is a MUST on anything that starts with "Di" and ends with "esel"

I dont like digital guages cause the boost and rail pressure guages on my tst are useless with the mp8 plugged in. I got the guage package in my sig with A pillar, all lines and isolater for 400 shipped.
And I can read boost higher than 40 lbs unlike most other digital.

You guys have had the wrong digital gauge or you installed them wrong because mine doesn't have any of the characteristics you mention.
- Mine reads over 40 p.s.i. on boost
- Mine works of factory sensors where applicable otherwise uses the same sensors as analog gauges. It also reads the sensor directly and has no contact with the ECM

My buddies edge attitude is very true. He can't say enough good about it. I certainly would not be afraid to go the edge rout. They are also a great company to work with.

You can also use this for gauges and it will read accurately no matter what box is on it. You can swap the tranny part out for the fuel pressure sending unit and have EGT/Boost/FP. It is by far the most cost efficient way to get gauges.

Lomarker i have a 05 auto and i installed my boost/pryo/trans gauges in my center console right below the heater controls autometer make a piece that you pull the little indash box out and install the gauges right there they look pretty nice there it angles the gauges up and towards the driver. message me if you would like to see some pictures of my gauge set up. and i'm pretty sure the 06 is pretty much setup the same way with the dash

I also have a 6 speed and will be getting
0-60 boost
0-30psi Fuel pressure
0-1600 egt
I dont know where some of you guys are getting these over $200 a piece gauges???? I even saw them in the classifieds saying that how much they paied for one gauge. I just looked on Summit and if was only about $60, $130, and $100 per gauge for autometer.

What about getting all 4 gauges for guys that have the auto tranny? I thought I saw a gauge mount on Geno's that goes above the rearview mirror against the windshield and headliner. Is there any other way to mount all four and still keep them out of the way like this?
