Guages for 06 5.9 Mega Cab needed
Guys, I know I have needed guages for a long time. I'm thinking about doing some upgrades to my tranny and turbo. So what is the best bang for the buck on gauages and a holder? Also, I will be doing heavy towing, not drag racing. So what all should I get guage wise.
I really want to get ball park cost for the guages and holder and instalation.
Thanks Mark

DieselManor.com has a huge selection of gauges but they are a bit overpriced in my book. Genos has a decent selection as well and are reasonable on price. For heavy towing you definitely want an EGT, FP, and Trans temp gauge. That would be the bare minimum if it were me. I used to tow heavy and all I had was FP, EGT, and Boost gauges. Now that I no longer do that I've added and oil pressure and rail pressure gauge..... gauges tell you a lot about what is going on with your engine and tranny.
Also, I wouldn't be opposed to adding a differential temp gauge either. Trust me when I say those suckers get hot. After a 24hr turnaround I got back into town and swung into the local car wash to clean up the truck a little and I have never seen steam come off of a diff cover until that day....and I did routine fluid changes and it never showed signs of overheating. It's up to you on how much you want to spend so do some looking around before you just jump in head first and make a purchase.
