1) Shane and Creed have pretty much proven you don't need a tranny to put that kind of power down. How long the stocker will last is debatable, but the fact is it can and has been done.

2) The stocker will cool 450-500hp at 40-42psi of boost. It might not be optimal, but it will work.

3) Needing an aftermarket lift pump I agree with, but you do not need a modded CP3 for 500hp. Lots of people have dyno'd over 500hp with the stock CP3.

I can attest to that!! My stock tranny has 109k miles, been running power adders since 14k miles. First ran the banks six gun, then quad race box, then stacked quad with bdpp, and now stack the quad with Smarty on beta 4.4! I will say its definately starting to feel weak, but it sure lasted a lot longer than everybody says keeps telling me. I know I'll be in for one soon, but I got good use out of it!

yep, definetly the first one because 3.73's are the only gear options availible for the duramax.

4.10's are only availible with the 8.1.

Any tranny mods at all? I think that there is a pretty good chance you've got slippage. 1/8th mile is a pretty hefty lead for the mods you've got. If you're tranny is still all good, I'd guess you have other problems- fuel? What do your EGT's look like running 2.4.1 (is it CL?)?

EFI live is pretty amazing you can adjust almost everything and set it the way you want it by making your own tunes way better than PPE but PPE is #2 for the dmax.

Duramax w/a manual trans. I have never seen one. Cool. I would still rather have your Dodge though.
