Going to build a cummins to make 800hp

Scope of work.
1) Fresh engine block
2) Fresh head
3) Hire a shop
4) Make this engine produce 800hp
5) This truck must be a daily driver
6) Budget 35k

Q1) What shops do this kinda thing

onetun:

I would highly recommend Scheid Diesel to you. They have three shops, one in Terre Haute, Indiana, one in Lafayette, Indiana and a third in Effingham, Illinois. I have been doing business with them for over ten (10) years now and they just finished building the engine in my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve with all the "bells and whistles!" You can look at my signature to see how the truck runs now. They are a Certified Cummins/Bosch Shop with full machine shop services, fuel pump/injector service and work on all brands of diesel pickups. Here are the numbers for the shops"

Scheid Diesel (Terre Haute): 1-800-669-1593
Scheid Diesel (Lafayette,Ind):1-800-669-3533
Scheid Diesel (Effingham, Ill.): 1-800-669-1934

If you are close to Scheid (within a state), they are definitely going to be your best bet. Other than that, you'd have to either find a good shop in Canada or find several shops that can do it in pieces.

I'll agree with John P.... they're getting ready to build my motor and have the resources many don't to get the job done.

I can't say for sure about the 05 block but, you won't get a 06 or newer unless you go through the dealer. That goes for a short block, long block or even a reman. The motor is proprietary to Dodge and/or DC so even Cummins can't sell them. I've looked high and low and all around. I've asked several different sources and they just can't be had.

If it is your 05 you're building, you might need to think about boring it for bigger pistons.

I just had Garmon build me a new body style half ton full cage truck with 85x hp at the wheels on diesel only.. I need to sell it now, and haven't made a pass in it yet. 35k will come close to buying the truck.. Garmon twin turbo 12 valve, suncoast trans, full cage, viper clone kit, and lots more.. PM me if interested..

Yeah no kidding. You might drive it daily but work on it weekly.

There is no free ride in Diesel Performance. The higher the power you go the more your going to be under the hood and under the truck fixing and tinkering.

alright so what your saying is a 800hp daily driver.. will also be a daily wrencher. I guess I can respect that, however I will chose the path that reduces the chance of that happening.
What do ya say is more of a real # or should a guy just go with what he got 500 and shut up........
