Going from 35" down to 33" tires

I'm going to take off my 35" Toyo MT's and put on some 33" A/T's instead. The Toyos are awesome tires, but I'm just not using them offroad enough to make it worth the extra size and tread on the street. What are some good E load all-terrains. I'm leaning toward the Procomp Xtreme A/T's in 325/60/18. BTW if anyone wants some nearly new 35" Toyo M/T's for an 18" wheel, send me a PM.

If you go down you will hate I've done it on 2 trucks when the tire shop backed it out of the bay I wanted to cry BOTH times. It made both trucks look like they were riding a chicken

Well I went from 2" leveling kit and BFG 315s to no leveling kit, lowered rear end and BFG 285s. This kept the same basic leveled look to the truck. The change did exactly what I was looking for, better mileage, better handling, faster track times, etc. Everything I wanted I got.

AND as soon as these tires wear out it will go back up, probably 4.5" and at least 35s. Just can't stand it without the higher stance and bigger tires. I had 55,000 miles on the 315s with some left when I made the switch. I only hope the BFG 285s don't last that long.

I had the 315's on my 03. it looked AWESOME! But the handling braking and steering were way better when I went down to 285's!

I think the 4x4's should come stock with 35's or at least 33's.

Yeah, especially since that's what the factory seems to have geared the 6-spd for!

Well I guess I'll have to think about it a little longer. I like the looks of the 35's, but miss the handling, braking, and better acceleration of the smaller tires. Those Mickey Thomsons do look good, but wow are they wide .

Is there a big power loss when goin from a 265 to a 315 tire??

Just kinda wonderin cause I'm up in the air on goin with a 305/33 or a 315 or even a 325/18 which is like a 33X13.50.

I'd guess a 315 on a 17x9 wheel would be bout the same loss at the 325 on a 18x10 rim, right??

Good luck John! My BFG 285s have almost 40,000 on them now and are wearing like iron. I am wanting to move up to 35's next go around.

I am really debating hard about BFG 35'' mud terrains or 315 ATs. The way these 285s are wearing, I will have plenty of time to think it over..
