Gauge wiring question

My girlfriend bought me some Glo-Shift gauges(Boost, Tranny Temp, FP), and an A pillar as a welcome home gift this weekend. How do I wire them into the truck? According to the directions I need a 12v from an ignition source (red wire), and there is a yellow wire it says to splice into the headlights. Were can I locate wires in the truck to do this? Any info would help. Thanks!

Go to Autometer and buy a dimer switch. Wire the tails off that into your 12volts. Get your 12 volt source from you light switch. Look under your dash up to where the wires come out of the light switch. There is an orange wire with a brown stripe. Use that for you 12volts. With the dimmer switch and light switch hooked into each other, you can dim your gauges two ways and get a very low dim if you like. Splice all of your 12 volt connections together starting from top gauge in your pillar to bottom so you only have ONE wire comming out the bottom of your pillar for 12 volt. For the ignition source, under your dash is two bundles of wires. The top set has a clear plastic shealth over it. Dont use that bundle. Use the set of wires under that right above your E-brake. In plain sight on the bottom side of that bundle is a pink wire with a yellow stipe. Splice into that for your ignition. Very easy to get to both wires I described. I am sure there are a million different ways to do this. This is just the way I have wired all of my common rails. Hope this helps. Be sure to hook your grounds up..... lol Try and stay in the cab. Helps with moisture issues down the road.

Yep, +1 for the Diesel Manor guys. Their instructions were spot on when I put gauges in my '07.
