Question Gauge questions

Ok so I'm sure its been asked but I just bought the Smarty Jr. along with egt and boost gauge but I was wanting to know if a rail pressure gauge would be worth it since I bought a 3 hole cubby pod i will have an empty hole in the pod. I'm also open to other gauge suggestions as well

Thanks in advance.

Save your money on a RP gauge and go with a fuel pressure gauge for the lift pump.

^^^ This ^^^

If you are only going to monitor one of the two fuel pressures it should be the lift pump pressure.

What are you looking at in turn key cost of these gauges (installed)? I want to get gauges put back on my truck. Previous owner had them at one time and took them off well before he sold it to me. I especially want them back on before any long road trips.

Out of curiosity, with a lift pump pressure gauge, are you talking about something with a relay to the gauge in the cab or is it mechanical, requiring pressurized diesel going into the cab to operate the gauge?

Cost for just the gauges was 350-400 I believe its been about a month since I ordered them and I would have to check my old emails to get the exact price. I plan on installing them myself when I finally get back to the states from deployment. If I can remember right the fuel pressure gauge is electric so no need to worry about raw fuel inside the cab of your truck but I may be wrong. Even if I am it's only the pressure from the lift pump not the fuel rail so it would be no more than 30 psi if raw fuel was plumbed in to the cab for said gauge.

The fuel psi gauge I had on my 01 24v was electric. Had a sending unit. No fuel in cab.
