Standup owner.
^^^ Real smart one aren't you.
I'm sure your jealous. I might be broken, but I can get it fixed. It'll just take a few less beers and hamburgers plus a paycheck or two. What's your excuse? Go hang out in the non performance section and bother someone else with that exceptional display of great personality. Your comment did absolutely nothing to help me. You know why? Because I know someone who can get my truck warrantied, but I won't. I fixed my own head gasket because I blew it.
I BROKE IT BECAUSE I MODDED IT. So I'll fix it because I've got some ethics Mr Stand up guy you must be.
So take yourself to some other website where your kind of "helpfulness" is better tolerated.

Transmission is also covered under the 5 year warrenty but since he has some goodies under the hood, warrenty would be void. He realizes it was his toys that blew the transmission. If you wanna play, your going to pay.

i tried out a 06 with the g56 and it only had 30k km{20k miles}and it towed somthing as there was a goosneck hitch in the box,it was noisy in 4th and 5th,especially 5th and was rough shifting,i dont think they are as strong as others.

By the way, sorry to hear about the problem. I know you'll get it fixed. Sit down have a beer and don't fret because there is no amount of worrying or excitement that will get your transmission fixed or rebuilt tonight.[/QUOTE]
^^^ thats the best advice I have seen on this thread yet.
I hate that you broke too, thats never fun. If you pull I would consider the NV, I doubt it would be much of a price differance, but if you like to shift fast they dont seem to be quite as quick as the G56s.
I dont think the swap is very complicated either, I can dig up some info on swapin the G56 to a NV5600 if you are interested.

I'll take info on the swap. Probably just gonna rebuild it for now. Once I pull it and find out what broke and how much it'll cost me to do the work, I'll decide.
Also, I had the impression when I bought it that the warranty on the tranny/drivetrain was 36000, not that I had ANY intention of using it. I'm sure me abusing the heck out of it helped things along, but I really wasn't doggin it when she let go. I'm just glad it was only a mile from the house.

Have you checked with Blumenthal's? I know they don't list anything about the G56 on their website, but they don't advertise the NV5600 either, and I do know that a couple of years ago, they did some serious research on the new G56. It's worth a shot anyway.

I am due for a re-build as well (my syncros hate me) Please keep us posted as to what you find.
BTW: Sorry to hear the bad news... I am almost condsidering a auto swap if they want too much to rebuild the G56.

lol Autos are WAAAAAAAY more expensive to build then a handshaker!..if you swap for a auto then you will need 4-8K to upgrade it...autos sure are fast tho!

Time to make a decision, do you want a truck that goes like snot or want a truck with 40" tires that looks cool, obviously you can't have it both ways...
(.... oh and BTW I'm not jealous)
