you can get parts at the dealer...probably your cheapest way is to just get the parts you need....I am pretty sure cheap and transmission don't belong in the same sentence
sorry for the bad luck man.

I'm sure your jealous. I might be broken, but I can get it fixed. It'll just take a few less beers and hamburgers plus a paycheck or two. What's your excuse? Go hang out in the non performance section and bother someone else with that exceptional display of great personality. Your comment did absolutely nothing to help me. You know why? Because I know someone who can get my truck warrantied, but I won't. I fixed my own head gasket because I blew it.
I BROKE IT BECAUSE I MODDED IT. So I'll fix it because I've got some ethics Mr Stand up guy you must be.
So take yourself to some other website where your kind of "helpfulness" is better tolerated.

I know you wanted cheep but ask Pourin Diesel about g56 trannies and power, have you considered a NV5600 swap? The NV5600 tranny has been around longer and has some more support available parts and tech wise.
PS Good Man for standing behind your morals.

Unruly,
I would check your local junk/scrap yards that have wrecked Dodge trucks. That would probably be your cheapest option and would also be an oem build not a rebuilt.
I checked www.dodgeparts.com and your G56 is $5035.00 (actual price, not retail)
By the way, sorry to hear about the problem. I know you'll get it fixed. Sit down have a beer and don't fret because there is no amount of worrying or excitement that will get your transmission fixed or rebuilt tonight.

Is there any aftermarket for the nv's? The only thing I have found was the fast coolers that nobody runs??? I would like to look at some upgrade parts as I feel im always at risk since that clutch fork came off way back when.
I ground in and out of gear with no choice for 300 miles pullin a 24' enclosed trailer full of tools with a clutch that would not engage or disengage at all in the pa snow.
