Not one of my trucks - heaven forbid!
This is out of a customer's truck - 6th gear was stripped neked during a low-PRM high-torque run... that a worse-case scenario as far as tooth-loading goes. It did NOT happen while shifting, and the truck still drove fine in all the other gears, which is amazing considering all the shrapnel in there.
Same engine on the 2nd tranny ate up a 3250 pressure plate... (don't tell Nelson that either! )

We're on a mission to make these G-units live at the 1K HP level; don't know what it'll take yet, but I'll figure something out.
Make it hold up to sled pullin too!!! Maybe some billet internals? Pricey but....

looks like lack of gear tooth hardening properly to me. See how shiney they are? Doesn't look like any heat was there at all, just mechanical shear forces at work.
Maybe a different heat treat and then the cryogenic treatment on top.
I know they have their good points but I like my automatic for exactly that reason.
