Fueling box and manual trans.........

Is it just me or do the RPMs come up really quickly when you put a box on your trucks? It's almost no fun to drive with my Quad box on the higher settings. It doesn't feel like the clutch is slipping because the truck moves but I hit 3500 rpms quick! Do I just need to shift quicker???

It acted the same way with the TST/MP8 stack.....

One of the drawback in having a close ratio 6spd gearbox. I find myself waiting till 4th gear before nailing it hard.

Even in my stock truck it feels like the rpm raise too quick. 4th,5th, and 6th are FUN. 2nd and 3rd are too quick for me. I never mess with anybody from a dead stop.

A nice lift with 37" tires will help.

On edit:

Your G56 is geared so low it's like a NV5600 w/ 4.10's. Big tires will make your truck seem like it's geared like a NV5600 w/ 3.73's.

I'm not going to huge tires but when it's time to change I am planning on 265's...

Well, I say I'm not planning on it but hanging around this place so much you never know what I'll end up doing........ My best friend lives in Miami where every dually in town seems to be running the big rims tires like D Wiggs has and he's trying to get me to run them on my truck....

265s wont really help, I didnt see much diff with my 305s (34"s). The only advise I can give is practise shiftin quicker.

Put a heavy trailer on the back and you will have a lot of time between shifts. The other way is to skip 3rd and 5th

Is your throttle sensitive too? All I do is barely touch the throttle and it moves out in a hurry. But I'm getting used to it. (BTW, this is with a TS Ramifier 100hp non-adjustable box)

Mine's not that sensitive but it definitely moves out when I give it enough pedal.
I did mean 265s and my reasoning is that I can pick up two used sets of take-offs for a whole lot less than buying 7 new tires, especially larger tires. I'm not really into the "huge tire on a dually" look. 265s will still be better than the stockers....

Maybe 285s...

I would buy the used tires. I did, and they only had 6,000 miles on them. Still look new, but about half the price...Also, they came with a set of rims!
