Vent kit mod?
I installed a 56 gallon TransferFlow steel aftermarket tank on my truck and the vent is at the top on at the highest point, however goes in at a 45 degree angle just below the top plate of the tank. I imagine this kit will seal in a steel tank. Anyone with any experience with this particular tank. BOMB-ing funds shrinking.

The issue is that DC uses the same tank for diesel and gasoline. Gasoline has a higher vapor pressure and therefore needs room to expand. This is the high spot that everyone is referring to and is unaccesible by the factory vent/fill system.
By capping the factory vent and relocating the filer neck vent to the highest spot on the tank, you gain 3-4 gallons of capacity and faster fill times.
Not that anyone is running a pit-stop, but the less time we spend in >100F heat or freezing cold to fill the trucks, the more time we spend having fun with friends and family, or making money!
Before the vent mod, I have spent up to 20 minutes slow filling the tank to get another 3-4 gallons in the tank, until I can see fuel in the filler neck, for a consistent fill. I would also get about 30 gallons of usable fuel (on a 35G tank) into the tank.
After the vent mod, it usually takes me 7-10 minutes to fill until I see fuel in the filler neck and I get about 34 gallons of usable fuel!
In my world, the time savings and extra fuel are worth the $35 and 2hrs of work.
