fuel system
Anyone have any good ideas on some fuel systems? I have been looking into the gdp walbro system and the fuel boss mechanical kit and the eliminator kit and I am open to any input that you have. I just know that I need something pretty quick. Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I have heard the same thing, I just didnt know if there was something that I should know about the electric pumps vs. the mechanical pumps that would make one better to have than the other? I do like the fact that with a mechanical pump when you hit the throttle the psi stay up instead of drop.
and they seem easier to hook up.

what happens if the belt breaks on the fuel boss or the electric pump dies on the fass/gdp? which is the lesser of the two evils?

the question is hypothetical, so please dont answer it...im sure replace the belt/pump would cure the problem

Well, if the belt breaks (unlikely) on the fuel boss, the electic pump takes over. The only time te electric pump will run is when you turn the ignition on before the fuel boss gets the pressure up, and when the level of fuel drops below the new drawstraw required to get the bigger supply to the fuel boss. There are two seperate systems.
I guess if you put a Walbro in, you can move the wires from the walbro (if it breaks) to the old pump, just a matter of unplugging the terminals and plugging them back in.
The fuel boss isn't that much more than the Walbro kit. Richard said that it will last practically forever, and there are rebuild kits if you need them.
I do like the idea of fuel pressure RISING instead of falling with the revs.
