frost plug ?

ok i am installing south bend ofe clutch this weekend i know i have seen some frost plug plates that are located at back of engine that would need tranny removed to install my question is how nessecary are these plates or under what conditions would one consider adding a plate to keep frost plug from blowing out i dont plan on much more than 450hp

well minnow, you must have missed it! i popped 1 in april, there was weeks of discussion about. there are 2 manufacturers selling relief vavle kits and i have been mailing block off plate templates like crazy.

TRX, you can install a plate with the trans in place. i did, and the plug. pm me your mailing addy and i'll send you a template to make your own. its easy.

I popped a rear going down the road and replaced my front a couple years back....The front was held in by the fan pulley mount.

No problems since....

Oh no, not saying that it does not work, I m sure it does the job. Just a little on the ugly side. You could use braided stainless line and AN fittings to make it look better, my .02.

... and then it would be prohibitively expensive for most truck owners.

We met the price point the customer base asked for using stainless steel & bronze 150psi fittings.

Our website is rife with the phrase "We custom design & fabricate... parts" -
The heavy-hitter, big-dog racer types buy the sexy $$$ stuff.
