He who is heavier will usually win unless lockers etc come into play. Usually they will start to hop and break a u joint so hook up to him. Don't be skeered. If you are worried put some lead in the back seat, adjust your hitch height up and give her hell. Take a video so you can put it on youtube to really rub salt in the wound.

I think you could pull him...but it may not be worth it if you damage your 48re. Seems to me your on borrowed time with your auto tranny with the Smarty/Edge stacked.

our service truck at work is a F350 V10 5spd pos and it will barely pull its self down the road. a bone stock cummins would out pull out run one any day.

The more power you have the more likely you are to lose traction.

These guys are tight, traction is king. These trucks have plenty of torque to break all 4 wheels loose on asphalt. (Even the 250/460) Actually so does the Ford v10, it at a few more RPMs.

I tried to pull a stump out of the yard with all 4 on the blacktop. Stock engine, 1st gear, low range, idling I had all 4 wheels spinning. You won’t be able to idle with an AT, but the torque is there.

You need to hook up so the mount points are even, you can’t have one truck higher than the other or there will be a clear advantage to the higher party.

Definitely use low range, I’m not sure how the autos work, but I assume you can keep it in 1st gear since you won’t need a lot of wheel speed. Just hold him until he breaks loose and you’ll pull him down the block.

Now, if he shows up with a load of bricks or a mound of dirt in the back, then you better do the same.

In low range I really don’t think you’ll hurt the transmission.

It all comes down to weight and traction, IMO. You're only talking about 7-8k. Even a small block chevy has the snot to move that in low range, lol! Watch those u-joints. Seen a t-case split once as well...

Singe your in Can, put a plastic tarp in your bed and fill it half full with water, let it sit over night and freeze and put a light dusting of snow over it and just say it's from the last snow fall ...

It's all about traction, the guy that breaks tires loose first is going to loose... So hook up stand on the brake until you hear his tires spin and then just pull away....

A good example of traction... Look how loaded down that ford is and look how light the rear end is on that dodge..

And drop the air pressure on your rears to about 30psi
