I had the superchips, other than the surging, I really liked the programmer. Some don't have the surging at cruise speeds, but most I have talked with have the surging. The dealer I bought it from is pulling it from their shelves until SC corrects the problem..... Go to Flashpaq website and read the comments. I returned mine and bought the Bully Dog Triple dog, so far, so surging, great power, about 2 mpg increase... IF, and big IF... you can keep your foot out of the go juice. I can't. Great options such as high idle, foglight high beam, and if you want to go hot, you can download the Crazy Larry. The AFE stage II is awesome, really makes your turbo sing.... My egts on a WOT run on a 6% grade with the Dog on Extreme (140hp) will only hit 1250. The bullydog also has the option of low end torque for the autos... it feels like it adds all the power at 1600 rpm.... be careful if its wet out... you will spin her around.

I was relatively happy with the superchip, but I can empathize with the disappointment with the delay in the "extreme" setting, but if you will do reasearch before you buy ANY performance mod, you then won't set yourself up for disappointment. I currently own one but am looking at a smarty later this week.

Welcome to the site! Use the search function and you will find more info than you have time in a month to read.

You will get various mixed opinions on downloaders...

Whether it is superchips, bully dog, ppe, smarty etc you will find people who have had great success with one and another person who has had bad success with it.

All of the truck are different. You just have to find the right combo for your truck. If your just looking for a little extra power you can't go wrong with any performance adder! As long as it doesn't screw with your trucks ecm

I have the Flashpaq and have not had any problems with it. The motor even runs smoother with the flashpaq than it did without it. From a dead standstill, the truck will spin the tires all the way through 1st and 2nd gears as soon as the turbo spools up. I've only run the tow mode- still haven't gotten around to trying the performance mode. Overall, I like it a lot. mileage is up about 1 to 2 mpg when I drive nice.

I have the SC. I like it (I must admit, it is all I know). It is a tire spinner. It is also a clutch spinner. Right out of the box, full throttle in upper gears would slip. I had to get a stringer clutch.

I have the Bullydog TripleDog and love it. I have also uploaded the Crazy Larry setting so 100 HP is minimal to that and it's free!!

I have the superchip on performance setting and love it. Some have had a problem with surging but I have not. 2.2 increase in fuel mileage and awsome power. Just make sure your ecm doesnt need a reflash from the factory before you install it. superchip keeps up with the latest update for your truck. For example if your truck has 2 updates from dodge and you don't get them installed and you buy a new superchip chances are you might have a problem.

Run SC on tow/performance mode. No problems - nice power. Have 6spd - no clutch problems - no surging. Use mine for towing, not looking for smoke or tire spinning. Just completed gauge install - @ 2200rpm running around 6K in EGT. Also have stage 1 AFE and 4" dual exhaust, and PRXB Pac Brake (which works seamlessly with my cruise control) - very nice set up for those who wish to tow. Do your research. I used the guys at Diesel Specialists outside of Orlando FL - they are honest, know their stuff, and pleasant to work with -

I have one as well. Love everything about the programmer, a little upset with superchips, and there concern for the customer. they need to come out with there dang extreme mode. anyway, it rocks, i run around in performance mode with no other mods than a muffler and 37's and i can slip the clutch if i WOT to low in the rpm range. need to save up and get a new clutch then i can really put power to the ground.

I'm trying superchips now. I'm gonna try it then try BDTD. I already like the BDTD because of the shift on the fly option and more settings.
