Finally, wheels, tires and more wheels and tires

The wheel not being hub centric is causing your shimmy, or do you think it's suspension related (i.e. alignment, etc.)? The hub centric comment makes it sound, to me at least, that the wheel is moving up and down slightly. Please tell me I wrong, because that sounds too outlandish for me.
Rubbing less than the 315s is cool. How far of a turn did you have to be in before the tires would rub the air dam?
Sorry for all the dumb questions. I'll try to stop now, I promise.

They have been on for a couple of days, need to check it out further,,,,
the Hub centric deal has happened to me on many different vehicles, CTS, Turbo beetle had rings made and no more shimmy.
these 18's are huge compared to the other wheel/tire combos...... I hope this is it, we were very careful bolting up the wheels to da truck.....
I will win, I hope, the hummer 315's had none(shimmy)on stock wheels, it got to be the welds without the rings,,,,,, I am new in town and need to find a machine shop, shouldn't be difficult......
Could need a stabilizer, alignment or rings, I'll do alignment first......
No questions to stupid,,,,,,,
Remember the death wobble post? the first shimmy event was exactly that.......
later

I'm kind of intrigued here. I thought Weld was going to be making wheels that were specifically for the CTD. If that is my thinking, then why wouldn't the wheels be hub centric from the get go without having to have this ring?
Hope that cures your shimmy problem. I sure like for them to make a 17" or 18" wheel with the "proper" backspacing. I'm not too sure about fender flares just yet. Perhaps I may have no other alternative.

Very few aftermarket wheels are hub centric, HRE is the only ones I know that make them hub centric about 5 k a set....
A ring is any easy fix and dont have to make new wheels each year for a new vehicle. I am glad to hear Weld is on top of it and have the rings,,,,,,, It's my fault for not remembering about the rings in the first place...
Weld has wheel that works on Dodge truck, I am thankful for that...... and they are the proper BS to me if you don't mind a little rubbing.

A little rubbing isn't going to kill me. What I was referring to was being able to put a larger tire/wheel on without having to add fender flares if the person doesn't want to. Right now I'm kind of on the fence with them. More than anything it's ignorance on my part that makes me wonder if they are worth doing. For instance, I know that the Cummins logo will have to be moved if I put them on, and I'm unsure of if they rub paint off the fender in the process.

I have had no problem with my non hub centric 17x9" steel wheels with 35 inch BFG MT's. I also have a 4.5" Tuff lift. Everything aligned and it tracks true. It seems strange that this issue is a hit and miss truck to truck. The factory lug nuts have a cone suggesting that the rim is really lug centric. If the wheel is moving around...it would seem like there would be greater issues.

Rings put in today and no more shimmy, alignment next a slight pull to the right and will be done, I am a happy boy even if it rubs slightly(on the flairs) and a tinyest bit on the arms way less than the 315's on the OE alloy rims.
