Finally time to start upgradin the 03
I have started buying parts for my 03 since I'll be home from Iraq soon and just wanted to see what everyone thinks of my potential setup.
Already bought
*****'s Whistler Intake parts w/outerwears cover
MBRP 4" 409 stainless turbo back exhaust
285/70/17 Kumho Road Avenger KL78 (anyone else used these?)
Need to buy
Edge Juice w/Attitude(was gonna go Smarty but I want the adjustability and built in safety, would you guys also buy regular gauges just in case?)
Airdog 150(gotta see if lift pump was ever replaced and put in tank)
?Quadzilla Rail Pressure Guage?(haven't decided on this help me out)
Can anyone think of anything I'm leaving out that I may need, I'm only looking for mild right now not wild. I want to hopefully stay away from getting a new turbo or clutch for awhile, but I will keep a rainy day fund stashed away just in case. I am pretty good about my skinny pedal so I'm hoping I'll be alright for awhile, until the horsepower bug really kicks in.

Having tried edge,BD, and finally Smarty I would definately go with a Smarty. I use the BD outlook to defuel on egt's but if I was doing it over ... again ... I would probably get the Quadzilla commander instead. Smarty rocks

Juice with Attitude is a nice set up for the 03. Hot juice is hard to beat on a stock truck. Smarty will slip the clutch...
What are your hp goals....answer that first.

Go with the Attitude if thats where you want to end up. Run the regular program until you want some more power. Then upgrade to the hot juice, get a OFE and a 62/12 turbo and it will be really fun to drive, and safe. Every Attitude only powered truck ive seen dyno were right at 400 hp and 750ish Tq.

If you want a 450rwhp daily driven 03 you pretty much have to get a smarty + pressure box + larger turbo + stronger clutch.
You might be able to get the same hp with other electronics but the smarty will drive the best and smoke less.
If you had a 04.5+ all you'd need is a smarty to hit 450.
Heck I have a Smarty#7 + MP8 at 100% + silberbullet turbo on my 03HO and have dynoed best at 438hp and a low of 390.
Sure my truck is fun to drive but it still need's even more to hit 450.

You probably don't need the rail pressure gauge yet with the mods you have listed. But that looks like a good package to start with. Good luck with the truck.
And a BIG THANK YOU!!! for your service to our country!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRayls spend the extra dollars on a 304 ss exhaust if you see harsh winters.
OldSmokey I see your from SD to tony, there arent many of us on here!!
I think for the time being I'm going to wait on buying a programmer, I might change my mind and go with a Smarty yet. I really would like the adjustability on the fly though if I'm pulling a horse trailer or camper.
