Talking Finally found combo that works WELL!!!!

I have been running around with my SAMRTY on lvl 3 for a while but could not stand the timing rattle. I tried running the after market injectors program, which did get rid of my rattle along with all the power. So frustrated as I was, I took the SMARTY out and ran just my Quad std box for a week. Then I got the bright idea to stack the two.... This weekend I went to the Sierra's to get my sleds ready for winter, and decided to run this stack for the trip. So I went ahead and loaded SW#2 on the SMARTY and lvl 1 on the Quad. WOW!!!! What an improvement, i love this stack!!!! Plenty of low end from the SAMRTY and lots of power from 2k and up from the Quad. EGT's were a little warm when under 1800 rpm's while climbing but with a blip of the throttle boost shot up and EGT's went down. I also netted 22mpg over the 500mi trip.

I only have one question, while blipping the throttle as stated above under the stated conditions, I could watch my RP slowly go down and stay there until I let off. Mind you I am only rolling into it until 1/2 throttle. But if I hammer it when I start to see them drop, the my RP takes back off again. The numbers are as follows, cruising @70mph RP=18K-20K, under load when they drop they go to 14K-16K and stay there until I let off then resume 18K-20K. Also if I hammer it while they are dropping they shoot up to 21K-22.5K.

What gives? Is this a sign that I am draining my rail under low boost conditions? Also my LP psi never dropped under 9psi while RP dropped.

As far as I know it is not a bad thing, I just could not deal with it. It was just too un nerving to me....did not sound good. You are free to do what ever you would like, there are many on here who share the same sentiment as you and me....I am just going to run this way until the new beta comes to the public....

i really dont have any extra rattle with my smarty on level 3 over stock. i do have the injector ticking sound between 2000 and 2500 RPMs. But i believe the injector ticking is normal too, correct?

I know that the SAMRTY wont cause problems, but the sound was just too loud for me. Also I wanted to use my Quad as well since I paid for it and could not use it with the timing that the SMARTY does. So now I have the best of both worlds.

i have more rattle when starting up first thing in the morning but after a couple secs it goes away and sounds stock to me. I live in Texas and havent had the smarty thru the winter yet, will it rattle more when it is colder outside?

From what I understandthe rattle is from cold cylinder temps and the advance injection of fuel. So when it warms up the noise seems to go away. I would assumethat the colder the outside air is when you start it up in the morning the louder the rattle.
