Luken's truck pretty much verifies that the dyno is accurate. Most any truck I've seen off John's dyno has mph numbers in the 1/4 to back up the hp numbers from the dyno.

Great numbers, I'd love to know how you were able to keep the tires from spinning on the rollers....what psi, how many straps, pix. A scanned dyno graph would be cool too. If your truck wasn't so fast I'd doubt the numbers too but you seem to be laying it down on the asphalt too. congrats, ks.

Seen quite a few trucks dyno 600 plus with just two straps on the rear and two on the front. One with around 800 Hp had to have 4 straps on the rear holding it down for traction.

I think the dyno is pretty accurate... Every hp calculator I have found puts my truck between 650-670... Not to far off. I made 7 runs on that dyno and they were all between 640(tst7x2+CL) and 659.3....

Congrats Adam! I believe its got the power.

Do you have a graph you can but up so we can see how the power was made. On the dyno as far as when it came on how flat ect. Do you think the mod cp3 help alot or little? And those are great numbers. Looks like i will have to try and move up in the 600 with the other big boy and girls

What rpm was your peak torque?

Those are good numbers....but I do think your torque number is off.

The reason I question the number is because we have very similar mods and my dyno number is 600ft lbs behind yours...

Tom Chaney (tomeygun) who dynoed on the same dyno dynamics your did was 100hp lower on a Mustang dyno(this past weekend/TST dyno day). It went from 605hp(DD) to 508hp(Mustang@TST) with no changes to the truck.

I dynoed at Scheids against the fastest 24V diesel only truck in the country...that is Karl Mireiter (11.45) and his twinned 24V did 645hp (mine 591hp).

Hmm...

Lucas,
On other dyno's trucks with the same mods are dynoing alot lower.

Maybe its just a dyno thing?

Another example would be myself or WFO on this site. We both dynoed with stock cp3's stock injectors and an SPS66 turbo on a dyno jet and we were within like 1hp of each other and that number was 522hp the only difference was that those runs were a year apart on the same dyno (both trucks with TST and BDDL's)

Here is another example....I did this with my 1999 Cummins 24Valve. Mods were PDRHX40, 125hp injectors, drag comp, manifold, exhaust, intake, tranny.
All 3 runs were made within a short time frame of each other like 3 or 4 months and the trucks mods were the exact SAME.

Single roller Mustang Dyno in Indiapolis Indiana (race shop) 399rwhp/700ish torque
David Dunbars in Paris, KY 2003 462hp/951ft lbs
Dyno Dynamics Cynthiana KY 2003 501hp/1080 ft lbs.

So if a 500hp truck on a Mustang can make 600 on a DD dyno thats a 20% difference. Very significant in my opinion.

Using the info I gathered above by running the same truck on different dyno's the Dynojet put the numbers in the middle.

That would make a 591hp truck on a Dyno Dynamics using a 17% positive variance right at 690hp...

Or a 522hp truck right at 600hp....(using the 17% factor)

I'm not arguing. I was just asking your thoughts. There was a truck that was on Floor-Its dyno at the dyno day then a few weeks later dynoed on a mustang and the numbers were very close to each other. I see your point tho. I would like to get on Davids to compare. At IRP there was a truck with a triple stack, twins(sps66 on top) and some other goodies and it only did 583. It seemed a little low to me. In my opinion dyno numbers are pretty stupid. It all depends on what you do on the track. Whether its pavement or dirt.

If you use the same dyno to try different combos thats the only way its going to be accurate. (Just to see what you gained)

I'll get on the mustang dyno down here next week and see what it will do so we can compare.

The Dyno Dynamics load the trucks down better for better spool up and boost numbers than the other dynos. That could be part of the difference. The dynojet at Mustang muscle only allowed my truck to hit 38psi. The Mustang dynos are notorius for reading lower than everything else out there.

Make sure to note the correction factor so we can do the math.

MColeman,
I do agree the Mustangs do read lower than everything else out there...But the jet seems to even things out.

Tomygun told me what his dyno number was at the TST event, he also told the ramp rate at which the dyno was set at! WAY too aggressive and slow of a ramp rate. If I set my dyno at that slow of a ramp rate the #'s are way off, if I set it too fast then it doesent load it enough. This is not a correction # only the amount of load, I've spent alot of time finding the best ramp rate so it will load the truck just enough to make power, load it too much and your going to take power away!

John,
So basically we are comparing apples to oranges by running on different dyno's with different operators right?
