no, it will not rob you of any power, but you will have soot all over your wheel and bottom of your bed

Emailed Rip with a few questions about shorty setup with muffler he wrote back that "It will drone w/o cat and it might w/o cat." Also system is 3.5 at turbo and goes to 4". I'm looking for a set up that is true 4" from turbo back. I want best possible flow to decrease egt with future ts/tst stack. Also I want a deep sound that is louder but not too loud. I want to avoid any drone if possible. Any suggestions? Truck is an '04 long bed cali S.O. edition.
Thanks...Rick

I dont have any experience with 5" but from what I have read a 5" shorty with a muffler (your choice, your preferance) SHOULD have the deepest sound while keepin drone to a minimum. Rook told me that a 4" system would actually be louder than a 5" but the 5 would be deeper. I would think runnin the longest 6" tip possible should deepen it up a bit too.

mine is 4" downtube to 5" at tranny crossmember and has a 90" 5" dump that kicks it out about 2 foot shy of the rear tire. loud as hell, not bad at all in the cab. no muffler or kitty. heres some pics, its chrome tube that was left over from my stacks. needs a little flat black hi temp on it

when i find a 6" tip ill probably whittle that 90 down a bit and stick it on there.
