A few cablight questions

OK, i have now installed the clear cab lights from recon. Has anybody had any leaking problem with these. The gaskets just look so cheap sleazy compared to the factory seal. Also has anybody had a problem with some being brighter that the others. The second and fourth cablights are much dimmer that the othee three. Any ideas to correct this. Thanks in advance

Congrats on the cab lights. I would recommend you putting a little bead of silicone, and you will have no problems. I installed the cab lights with the gaskets that came with the kit, and actually had no issues with leaking, but decided to put a little silicone because the gaskets were showing. As far as the bulbs go, I would maybe get new bulbs. Beleive it or not I still have the original bulbs that came with the cab lights. Post some pics.

oh, i did put some silicone on them. They were a major PITA to get off. Ripped the gasket in two.

Just replace the bulbs with amber LED's, silicone everything up and nothing to worry about. The LED's I purchased claim a 100,000 hr life. No worries about leaks or bulb replacement!

moneytlks01, I would be happy to shoot you some pic's, however it will be early next week before I will have the chance to do so. Work always interferes with the fun stuff!

Mine came with the amber LEDs and they look like the factory at night if not better. They do not look out of place at all. That was one of my main concerns.

Depending on your local law enforcement personnel, you could also try coloured LED bulbs to amtch your truck, I did this, and put clear lamps and blue bulbs on my arctic fox camper, look cool at night, bright too.
