Fastest Spool to keep me cool
I've been doing lots of research On combo's for twins. I'm not a fan of lag. My current turbo isn't that bad but I'm getting ready to step up ta 2 turbos. I think a 62/71/13 over a s-480 is going to be My Choice. Also considering a 64/65/13 for the top. I'm also interested in garret turbos But can't rationalize nearly 6k on twins. Please give me your advise! Remember Fastest spool to keep me cool

cquestad has the 64/65/13ss over s480 and seems to be happy with it. Between that and your first choice is six of one and a half dozen of the other. Reaction and lag are going to be similar (yes faster, but not a whole lot faster) than driving with your bullet as a single but without the surge. Fastest spool is the garretts as I can attest to... but yes they are $$$. You already have a ton of $$$ into your truck, for a few more you can be truly happy!

Thats why I'm doing as much research as I can. Spool up Is what I want. I'm Fine with the HP I have I just want it cooler and more usable on the street. WIsh I could ride in a truck with my fuel mods but with a 62/13 over a s-480

Sounds like me, thats what i want too but i was thinking a 62/13ss over a s400. Right now i have a ps 64/65/14 which would probably work good but i herd the htt ss had a better waste gate for a twin setup.

I don't think a s-475 would keep me cool with my sticks. But I think Ive found a solution to help with spool and egts and drive pressures. If my plan works it should be something else!!!!!!

If lag is your main concern, go with the 65 wheel. If you want a better drive ratio go for the 71 wheel. the 64/65 will still move plenty of air, but with your sticks and mods you could spool a 71 wheel just fine, its just inevitable that the 65 wheel will spool quicker.

If you really want spool up get Nathans kit that uses the stock turbo and an S-400. Thats my setup and it spools awesome! The larger setup will have lower EGT's but I'm thinking their not going to be fun to spool. Ive driven trucks with that pair and it took forever.

my 62/71/13ss starts at 15-1600rpm with just 150's and a smarty. it feels like my stocker spooling till it lites then it rockets to whatever, i cant look cause im focused on the road. i cant wait till it really breaks in.
im a 2nd gen, just my .2

i talked to numerous people and they say the 65 only spools a couple hundred rpm quicker. not worth it with a 62mm charger IMHO
EDIT opps didnt realize he was talking about the 65 on a 64 charger
