Fast Clutch??? 6 or 12 button??
So the Smarty has me really looking at clutches, but I got some questions.
I doubt I will do too much sled pulling with my truck but I may try it a few times I know I would like to take it to the track and run it.....so I am thinking I should find the fastest shifting clutch.
So whats the best clutch for drag racing but still able to handle 700hp??
Member Banshee and JD has got me thinking the HMR Street Drag. even more after reading this..https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=160560
but what about the HMR Street Puller??? will it be a lot slower shifting then the Drag??
what about Southbend?? what's their fastest shifting clutch with a 700hp rating??
Thanks for any input you got
yeah I know it's another clutch thread...I did search but still had some more questions.

Well, when you figure it out, let me know. I need a double disc pretty badly. I went with the biggest single I could find, but it isnt enough. I might get a Haisley this fall and see what it is like.

I think im leaning towards the Haisley also. Hurry up and get it so I know which one to get. 5th and 6th gear hate me really bad right now, especially when my 120hp injectors show up.

I have the 3600 12cb and it's not the quickest but when ur on the track it for some reason flies into gear. Banshees clutch is actually easier to me than the stock. But he wont do a 3rd gear start with it. I HAVE NO problem.

What kind of 60' times do you get with a 3rd gear launch instead of 2nd?

well Im not possitive on what it was last time. I've only gotten 1 out of 7 runs in without spinning tires in upper 3rd and 4th. I know a 3rd gear launch is like no other. Feels like ur in a rocket.

I know I will get WAYYYYYY more votes for the SB clutch vs HMR....but the fastest handshaker (Banshee) out there is running a HMR.......I know they are both great clutches..but witch one shifts faster??...I have yet to find a bad post on either of them...so that has to say something

I would think a 6cb rigid hub would be the fastest no matter who makes makes but the 12cb is gona have better road manors. I have NO problems bangin gears with my truck, I dont feel that the clutch has slowed my shifts down at all. Maybe its just my truck or maybe its the diff in the G56 vs the NV, but the only "problem" I ever have is gettin it into gear, but if I hit 3rd then back to reverse or first it goes in no problem.
I looked at haisley too and the main reason I went with SB instead was because of the sprung hub design, had it not been for that I MAY have went with haisley but I have had better service with SB than any other company I have delt with and had zero problems out of my clutch. The guys haisley were very helpful and very informative too, always took the time to help me out.
