Fass squeeling badly

One day the fass runs rather quietly the next it squeels something fierce. It just seems to change minute to minute day to day no matter what fuel level my tank is at. Any leads?

OK...you have a HPFP right? This would be the By-pass ball and spring squealing.

As we dead head every pump we make for about 10 mins to catch any of these, some act differant on the truck since this is not a "True" Dead head condition...but very close. SO....what i have found is that this usally is on a new pump. AND after the spring "breaks in", the noise will stop. So far this has been the case 100%. If it doesn't, contact your FASS dealer and we will wnty the pump out. This is not hurting the pump in any way.

Thanks Diesel Dan. The pump has at least 15k on it. Is there anything I can do myself to fix it? Yes it is a hpfp I think a 150gph.

Now that's hilarious, and actually accurate as well. This is one reason why I visit. The mere size of this pump should be an indication of its capabilities. The sound to me is comforting as well..........

The FASS just might be a 'little' overbuilt for the application. This is good...........

If you pump has a seal, i ask that you don't brake it. The only fix we have found that works it to use a new ball and spring. If the noise keeps up, contact your dealer and have them call me for some options.
