well i recently purchased a fass 150/150 system after reading the instructions im confused on if i have to take the stock lift pump out of the tank and how i go about installing a new pick up? or can i run it through the stock lift pump, im also pretty sure that my lift pump is in my tank as i can hear it pumpin while im waitin for my wait to start light to go out.

04.5's and newer have an intank lift pump. You will have to install a pick-up tube in the tank. You can make one yourself from 3/8 or 1/2 tube with a bulkhead fitting or order a pre-made one from fass or vulcan. Install is simple as dropping the tank and driling the correct size hole in the top of the tank next to the cap and installing the tube. Leave all the factory connections intact so if you ever have a problem with the fass it will only require reconnecting the factory supply line on the cp-3 and inserting the lift pump relay to return to stock

I think the in tank pumps did not start untill '05 - My 04.5 has the pump on the filter housing.
Pretty simple to find out - go look at your stock fuel filter housing -you should be able to either see the pump or not -
