FASS install

Does the little blue retainer need to come off before the FASS quick connect can go on? I have the truck torn apart and I'm starting to struggle. I think I need to break it off of there but I'm not sure. Help.

If you are speaking of the one on top of the fuel tank then no, do not break that...you need that when putting on the new line.

I had to get the blue plastic piece off of there. It didn't come off with the stock hose. Thanks.

I just installed my FASS yesterday,Ialso had problems with that blue retainer. As I stated on TDR I pulled mine off by hand and had no problems after that. The piece that comes with the FASS system would not go on with the blue retainer in place. The retainer did not break when I pulled it off.Let me know if you need more help.

once you have the blue retainer off there is a lip on the hose that held the blue retainer on.That is what the black plastic piece from FASS hooks on to.

Good info. I figured it out after I got on the DPP web site and looked at the color phots on there. I had to cut the blue plastic piece off though.

All is well now. 21 PSI and 18 on WOT with 5/5 Juice and 3 EZ.
No more hesitation under WOT anymore.

Thanks for the replies. I was panicked for about 5 minutes.

Digging in graves here.......BUT if anyone ever reads this....all you have to do to get the blue clip off, is Bend both the prongs back over on its self and it will just pull off with out brakeing. Then insert it back into the stock hose. 10 seconds and your done.......
