FASS Filter Mount

I received my order and opened it up to find the most micky mouse mounting system I have ever seen. For $650.00 I certainly expected
considerable more on the design side of what is going to hold this on. I would liken this to an anchor at the end of a fishing pole method.
Has anybody else had any concerns with only (2) 1/4" bolts holding the entire assembly to the truck?
The dealers response was "lot of them out there, havent had any problems".
Considering whether to return it or not...

Mine has been on there for over a year and it is still as tight and sturdy as the day it was put on.

The mount works great.

I pull a sled with what amounts to two 5/8" bolts. So I would venture to say two 1/4" bolts will be fine!

Our brackets are made with 1/4" steel. We use 2 (to 3 depending on application), 3/8" Grade 8 bolts to attach to the frame. 4, 3/8" grade 8's to attach bracket to bracket and 5, 1/4" grade 8 bolts to attach the flat bracket to the FASS. If you install it correctly, this is more than enough. We have never once had an issue with the frame cracking or bracket breaking. You can weld the bracket to the frame if you choose to (I did, but because i found welding easier to drilling 2 holes! haha....) but its not needed. Heck, the KORE truck has been running a FASS with our brackets for the last few years with no issue....and if anyone would have one...i would bet they would be one of the first. It’s a proven set up.

OK, I went back and opened up all of the hardware bags (Should have done this first ) and layed out the parts. Once that was done it became clear how everything mounted. The aluminum spacers were the key as I did not see them the first time. Yes you are Correct Dan (5) in the unit
(4) bracket to bracket and (2) bracket to frame.
Constructive comments...
1. The bracket arrangement I have is not shown anywhere in the Instructions I received in the box.
2. When the instructions refer to the actual mounting of the bracket to the pump unit it refers to photo 2A....2A is a photo of a hose being placed on a barb on top of the tank?

Try these and see if they are more updated. These have pics of the new Flat Bracket on the FASS

You are correct about the 2A photo....i will bring this up with Brad...we are currently redoing all our manuals.....thanks for the help!
