Fass 95 noise,NOW IM NERVOUS!!
I posted a few days ago that my 2 month old Fass 95 hpfp was making funny clicking sounds and was weeping from the drain hole(not dripping, just sweating a little)
Well the noise is getting louder so I crawled under truck to get a close up. I moved the wires to put my hand on pump and the noise stopped. I now can make the noise come & go by moving the leads going in to pump.
Anyone seen or heared of this before? It sounds almost like a brush is shorting. Its definitly a electrical crackle noise.

No, I checked the connector.I made sure to zip tie wire harness with a slight loop of slack. If I press with my thumb ,on the wires right at the entry point on the pump, the noise goes away. Its a zapping, crackling noise.

Check all your connections....and make sure the pump is running when the noise stops. I cant say i have ever seen an issue where wiggling the wires cause a noise to start and stop (Short of a loose connection in the motor...BUT the motor would completely stop and start when that happened). Make sure everything is ziptied up good.....
As for the weeping...that is not normal. Have your dealer contact us with your SN. Though it could be just the grease that we coat the bearing with seeping when the motor gets hot. YOu might wipe it off or spray it down with some brake cleaner and see if it comes back.

I had a good look under the truck,It is definitly diesel fuel that is weeping and it seems to be coming out from around the motor base, not the weep hole.
The best description of the noise is that it sounds like crackeling.Almost like there is something bouncing around in the brush area. If I take my thumb and press the wires against the motor, the noise stops.Let off and it comes back. Was not there for the first few weeks the pump was on truck.I first heard the noise when i was outside the truck and it was idleing. The pump speed does not change with or without the noise.
Damned if I know i still have the stock lines on the truck,so putting the stock lift pump back in would not be a problem.i could just drop the pump and cap the hoses.
Please let me know, as this is my daily driver.Dont want to get stranded.

Dan, you out there?
I called TST and left message. No call back as of yet. Will call again. Noise is getting louder.I build motorcycles and hotrods so I am pretty handy with the wrenches, and my opinion is that there is definitely something wrong with the pump. Dan, could I get an RMA # from you and ship it directly to you? Give me a shout or drop me a PM how I can get in touch with you.860-643-7966
Thanks, Lew J.
