Nice Job !!! I just started some simple welding last year so I can appreciate your efforts. It's always fun to build your own functional stuff, especially when your creative and others can appreciate it.
I vote for line-x !! I plan to do rocker panels and front and rear bumpers someday.

Look in my gallery for pics of mine...5x2 3/16" wall tube powdercoated and attached to the frame. I can lift the truck with them with no measurable deflection. We made another set for my brother's truck using body brackets similar to other bolt on steps. They almost feel as strong.
They don't hang low, provide a wide flat step, and keep the silly door seal from filling up with mud along the bottom of the door.

CQ, I wish you would've chimed in sooner.... I had a bunch of questions for ya . Anyway, how did you attach them to your frame? and your truck looks tuff.
The stuff I bought is Duplicolor do it yourself liner. Probably not as good as line-x or rhino but I got a gallon of it for $33. Front and rear bumpers are next.... after I do the passenger side rail/step.

They are welded to the frame. My family is in the steel business and it is not difficult for me to have them "properly" attached. My brothers are welded to a body bracket that is used by a shop down the street that builts bolt on steps. Either way works great. Welded is the ultimate for the more bold.

I built some steps using 2 3/8 pipe, coated them with Hercule bedliner and order some aluminum diamond step plates from Cabelas' (part # AS-51-1852-005) only about $10.00 a pair.
