I would like to first note that the truck does run quieter! Its is smoother! The motor does rev up quickly. It feels like the power does come in sooner. It does have some what of a deeper tone in the stacks. I have not turned the boxes up yet. But it does have more pep than before the cam! It has been cold and snow and there is no way to get traction. And before you say4x4 it would spin three of the four tire before the cam!! Egt are down. And i start get boost at 1300rpm. Lots of work but so far it was worth the time and effort to get the job done. Made a short round trip to st.louis about 120+ miles fuel mileage may be up will have to hand calculate on longer trips. But old girl only used a quarter tank! I will let everyone know if i gained power or it just comes in sooner on april 26 she goes back on the rollers. I believe it just comes in sooner but we will see. So far happy with results i can hardly wait to get my hands on some flux injectors! Hint HInt john and don m!!

What stage is your cam. I'm in the process of ordering on in the next week or so and am looking for opinions.
Was the install hard?

I think Don only sells the stage 2 for the 3rd gens.

There has been write ups on all the forums on how hard it is. I wouldnt hessitate to try it but you have to notch your crossmember to get it in(you probly already knew that). You might want to do a search there were some good pictures took when several others did the install.

Actually you can just loosen the two engine mount thru bolts and jack up the front of the engine. That's the way I did it (and the way it's suggested in the factory service manual). That step was easy, took almost no time, and the cross-member is still intact.
