Exhaust for twins
My truck is completely quiet now. The only thing you can hear are the turbos. The MPRP exhaust is 4", so the system is a 5" necked down to 4.
I've been thinking about just running a 5" straight pipe, and was wondering if there is anyone out there with that setup. I don't want it to be obnoxious, but it should have a good rumble if ya know what I mean.
Think itd be too loud? Should I go with a 5" and a muffler?

It will never be loud the primary turbo knocks the sound right out of it. I drove mine to the shop with just a downpipe and it was nice and quiet, aside from the whine.

im with dodge359, you will be ok as long as you have an exit after the rear tires, even without a muffler. as long as you dont mash it through your neighborhood you will be fine. remember the bends in an exhaust pipe quiet the noise down a little (not alot) so a side dump would probly be obnoxious.... like me! hahaha

I am running a 5" straightpipe into 4" stacks behind a fiberglass sleeper (Echo chamber) and the trucks is quieter than it ever was with a single turbo and muffler.

Doesn't seem like the price will be too bad on a 5" system either. Think itll make ANY difference in the noise level? How about power? How much am I losing necking it down to 4?

I was running a 5" necked to a 4" but when I switched I noticed no difference in heat or performance. I am also running a 5" y pipe for the stacks so maybe I wouldnt see a big change.

Im running full 5" from turbo back thru a 51" donaldson and I cant hear a thing. I love it because I can really hear the whistle of the twins. But running this same exhaust on a single charger it was obnoxious!! Man I love my twins (at least for sound).
