Exhaust tip?
I just can't decide. What are others running and how do like them? Where did you get them? Turn down, straight or slash cut? If you are running a turn down did you cut your existing pipe to get the desired look.

I have a five inch turn down flush with the out side of my tire and it looks good it is a little loud though.I still have my stock exhuast but I think the sound is coming from the exhaust hitting the ground kinda a revirberation(spelling???)

We have several tips listed at our web site. I personally like the 4" inlet x 6" Outlet that is 18" in length, polished stainless. Makes the exhaust system look huge too.

they will sound different if they have a rolled edge versus a straight edge...if that makes any sense. the rolled edge gives it kind of a fluttering ford type sound and the straight cut edge seems to be a bit raspier. i just run 5" so no tip for me.

I've got a 4" stainless turndown on mine, had to cut about 6" off to get it tucked underneath the truck. Standing directly behind the right rear tire, the outermost edge is about 3/4 of the across the tire.

Where did you come up with that, fluttering ford sound? I'm not sure where you're coming from with that one. Explain. Maybe, the muffler type and tip length makes a difference. I'm running a Donaldson 41" w/ a DT stainless rolled lip tip. In many peoples opinion it sound like a muscle car with a chamfered exhaust. I also have two co-workers with fords 7.3 and 6.0. Neither sound like mine?

I settled on the stainless rolled tip with the 45degree cut, by Mopar. It looks a lot like Banshee's tip. It is about 14" long right to the far edge of the angled cut. Mine bolts on, and you don't heve to cut any off. I turned it until I had the angle on the outlet the way I like it, and extended it out a bit more than the stock pipe. I like it a lot, and please don't ask me for pics right now, as we just had about 8" of snow.(I like the sound. It sounds like one tough truck- not like a powerjoke FCOL!! )

Socal's turn down looks like the gibson. I just ordered a magnaflow. I had always thought that the turndown tips would quieten the system =\ Regardless it will keep the soot off the rear corner which is why I wanted a turndown.
