exhaust Qustion for 2005

Would like to see if someone can tell me on tail pipe back from turbo but before muffler there is hump made in to pipe what is this? Do not think it looks like can be cat but do not know what it is. And if it is cat then can you leave it in and just remove muffler would not it muffal the sound to? Then could remove muffler and add tip.

lots of people like taking of the muffler and putting on a delete pipe. tip is all personal preference as well as the sound. I only took mine off because it was in the way and would not fit up right with my cat back system.

So sounds like you keep your cat? I do not want to have warranty problem so may have to keep it and go cat back.

deleting the cat won't do anything to your warranty it only depends on your states emmition laws if you must have it or not. i put a silver line exhaust and deleted the cat cause maryland doesn't do emmitions on diesels. the cat tends to create alot of back pressure in the tailpipe and diesels do not like the back pressure.

Removing a catalytic converter on any vehicle that came with one from the factory (unless it is offroad use only) is a federal offense. Even if your state doesn't enforce it. It's a $2500 fine if I'm not mistaken. They just don't enforce it much.
