Exhaust pipe rusted, time to upgrade?
My exhaust pipe rusted and broke loose from the muffler.
I'm using this as a sign to upgrade my stock 2005 5.9 Cummins.
I'm open to other options, but I'm currently looking at 2 options:
Magnaflow 5" Stainless Turboback Single Pipe for ~$630 shipped.
Motoblue 5" Aluminized Turboback Single Pipe for ~$400 shipped.
(from rpmoutlet.com)
Anyone have experiences or other brands to recommend?
I understand that 4" pipes come stock, I 'assume' that a 5" would increase the flow of air, making it run a little cooler (I don't tow anything consistently yet). Aside from being louder, is there any downfall of going 5" (back pressure issues?)?
Is there a driving reason to go Stainless over Aluminized? (I live in PA and see a decent amount of snow/salt), but will be moving to GA in a couple of years (read: no snow or salt).
Thanks!
