Exhaust manifold
It seems that ATS manifold is probably the most popular but I was wondering what you guys recomend.
I have nothing against the ATS, just wondering what you guys think about the others, BD, HTT, etc.
Which one would you get? Why?
Thanks

I think you'll have good luck with any of them. I went with ATS because I liked the build and look of their manifold.
With any of them though.... if I were you or anyone, I'd have it coated. I sent mine off to Jet-Hot for a ceramic coating good to 2000F
It you don't do it... any and all of them will rust and turn ugly. It also helps contain the heat where it should be.

If I was keeping my truck I might try one from Joe Hellmann. I have an ATS on there now though with no problems. Night and day between it and the stocker.

I have an HTT. Comes pre assembled which was a big plus as ATS doesn't (didn't 2 yrs ago). Been very happy with the HTT and I love their accessory kit that includes everything you need, preventing extra trips to the hardware store.
I suspect any of the ones you mention will work well....... and pretty similar. No major power differences on any...that I have read.
Just stronger, better built and won't crack! Minor egt improvements and slightly better spoolup are possible on a 2nd Gen. 3rd Gen........?

PDI makes a manifold now too...it's supposed to be pretty nice??
to me they all look like they are the same??
I wish we had pics of them ALL right next to each other to compare.

Ok, thanks. I dont expect any real hp gains, I just want slightly cooler egts, and a lil better spool up. If it made it sound any better that would be a plus too.

I have an ATS but i can say how much good it did, because i did the install at the same time as my turbo. but i have had no problems with it.the ATS comes pre drilled and tapped for egt probe.
to you twins owners---: I here alot of people talking about having the three piece with twins on a 3rd gen. when i upgrade to twins can i still use my 2 piece manifold? I would hate to have to find a new owner for that too.

Nope, you need the 24 valve three piece for clearance issues.

I wouldn't expect any EGT reduction... I've run ATS and HTT manifolds, and I like them for their crack resistance... and on a 12v they really help to prevent the HEAD from cracking. But I have never seen any performance difference at all
