I've been trying to decide what to do about the exhaust system on my truck. I want to keep the temps down and I want the truck to be quiet most of the time. I like the idea of being able to push a button and scare people when it's necessary though

Here's my question: If I were to keep the stock exhaust and add an electronic cutout, would it reduce my EGTs when the cutout is open? This is really the only reason that I'm interested in an exhaust system. I'm also on a budget and don't want to spend more than necessary. Any suggestions short of replacing the whole system and then putting in a cutout?

My factory exhaust is 3.5", correct? Thanks guys

i saw no drop in EGTs with my cutout, but i do have no kitty and a donaldson truck muffler.

Yours is 3.5from turbo to near the end of tailpipe.I think a small section is 4 inch.

I thought the H.O.s were 4 inch all the way?

The 03 HO's are 4" from the muffler out I believe and 3.5" from the turbo to muffler.

03s are 3.5 except like tailpipe section.I replaced mine from the back of the turbo back to get a full 4 inch. Replaced mine in the first 2000 miles. when i replaced the only company that had the downpipe out the back of the turbo that was 4 inch was Banks.Now you can install one off a 05 or still have to get one from Banks.

i agree 3.5 to the muffler, 4 from the muffler back i eyeballed it with a tape measure.

I just ordered a 4" MBRB exhaust system and a QTP electric cutout. I didn't really want to spend as much as I did but I decided that there's no point in doing it half a$$ed

Should be installed in the next week or so. Thanks for the input guys

You need a 4 inch outlet pipe on the back of the turbo to make it a full 4 inch front to rear.

Humm,NO photo of the DOWN TUBE at the very BACK of the turbo. Its a heavy caste piece. I would inquire.Some reason I don't think its included in THAT price.I would CALL them and ask! Don't assume.

Your both correct. It's a 4" turbo back, the turbo outlet is only 3.5" though. The kit bolts onto the turbo, then goe's right up to 4". So it's a 4" system but you should upgrade the cast iron elbow on the turbo outlet to 4", then it's a true 4" to the tip

My Banks kit came with the outlet.Cost more money.Was told that the outlet was the FIRST restiction.You can also use a oulet now off a 05.Its a 4 inch or buy one through Banks.

Where can I get a 4" electric cutout and Y pipe other than QTP? I ordered it last Wed and called on Friday to see what the status was and they told me it had shipped Thursday. I called today because I was expecting it to arrive yesterday or today and they first told me they didn't give tracking numbers. Not real customer friendly, but ok. He puts me on hold and comes back to tell me that they are on backorder and I won't recieve it for another 1.5 months. I asked why I was told it had shipped and he tells me that the computer says they left me a message and they were waiting on me to call. BS. I didn't get a phone call and he can't tell me who called. Keeps arguing with me and basically calls me a liar. So much for them getting any business from me.

So who else makes these things?
