I've had bad luck with electric ones, mainly QTP. Alot of guys are staying away from theirs. They have good customer service but it's a pain to take it back off and ship it to them and wait for a replacement.

any idea as to what the problems were? I'm guessing the motor stopped, but I was just wondering if it was a corrosion issue, heat, not enough power when things get rusty?

I got a qtp 4inch electric cut-out and its before the cat, the controller lets me open it where i want i can have it at any setting. Qtp customer service sucks but there product is great. Sounds like a semi at wot.

Big Bear, just a side note here. One thing I have seen is that most of the electric ones bolt on to the Y pipe and replace the cover plate that you see in the picture Patrolman808 posted.
Cable operated cutouts
almost always seem to have the valve built into the Y pipe.
I myself am looking for a cable operated cutout, however having the ability to bolt the plate on in the event of a valve or motor failure would be nice.
Anyone ever find a 4" or larger cable operated one?
