Exhaust brake?

Buddy of mine bought an 05 cc 6spd and has heard that someone makes a "jake brake" for them. Any truth to this? He isnt wanting the flapper type that just closes off the exhaust pipe, he wants the true semi type compression brake. If so who makes them and how much? Thanks for the help, as you can see im a ford guy so i dont know $#!t about dodges.

thanks,luke

No, there are no "jake brakes" available for the cummins ISB engine, just exhaust brakes.

Dodge does not sell or advertize a "Jake brake" for our Cummins. Only a Jacobs exhaust brake is advertized and sold.........JIM

There are no jake brakes made for the isb engines. Just exhaust brakes. You get 170 rhp from the jacobs or the pacbrake. If your just after the noise, you'll be cheaper and better off to put the e-brake on and hire someone to sit in the back of the bed and go ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba real loud when you hit it.

most people know of "jake" brakes, mainly when talking about semi's. "jake" brakes are compression brakes that actuate on the rockers arms(under valve cover) for deceleration. The jake brakes for pickups are made by Jacobs and are exhaust brakes, similar to banks, pacbrake, BD, etc.
