What's a good price for a 5 inch exhaust? I had someone price on to me at 650 today. Still not sure what brand though either silverline or mbrp.

If that's an MBRP turbo-back installed, it's not too bad of a price. I think most of the time they run around $550 or so + installation.

If you don't want to fork out that kind of money you can get a 5" turbo-back from shopdiesel.com and then add a Donaldson M090535 muffler to it. Sounds excellent and has no drone. I love the way this muffler sounds on these trucks. Doing this would cut the cost about $200.

I think the Aero 4" mufflers sound decent on these trucks, but I still prefer the 5" because of how deep the sound is. Don't get me wrong, the Aero 4040XL does sound good though.

Nice man thanks. Is the shopdiesel muffler the same quality as the others and just as easy to install? Hope so cause that rocks as price goes.

The muffler is actually a Donaldson muffler so you have to buy it elsewhere. A good place to get it is Ryder Fleet Products. It's like $74 shipped I think. The Shop Diesel kit is a decent kit, but it's not going to be top quality like the MBRP kits. You still can't beat it for $310. The biggest difference is the hangers. On the MBRP kit, the hangers are welded on the tailpipe extension; not clamped on. This just makes for a cleaner look from behind the truck. That doesn't matter to me though because I don't even have the extension pipe on. As soon as it goes over the axle it just dumps. I prefer the sound better that way.

Thanks all for the info. I think that mod will be after tire/wheel/lift setup. Since i already have modified exhaust.
I want stacks but don't want to loose my toolbox (seen some cut but haven't seen details)
I'd like to run duals but it seems awful expensive. But i have seen (i think on this sight) where someone had duals out of flex pipe, anyone know of this??

06CTD Thanks for all your info. I can't wait until I learn more about these ctd's to help others out. Again with another question. Is yours a shop diesel exhaust? I'm asking hoping you can tell me if it installs ok. I've been in situations before where I've saved money up front but really cussed it later. Would you recommend the smarty jr. over the edge with juice? I know it's an opinion question but again trying to learn more. As a chip goes I'm still checking out all the options and there's a ton.
