Yep, with a a good TC that is locking correctly very seldom will the trans temps ever exceed the engine temp. Generally a 20 degree difference is what I see, relying on the cluster gauge which is only approximate.

IIRC, the fluid-to-fluid cooler is 90% recirc until 140 degrees then 100% is circlated thru the front cooler.

Correct on the engine-trans-engine thing - shoulda finished the thought with 'and vice versa': when atf is hotter than ECT, the engine absorbs the extra heat - when ECT is hotter than atf temp, the 48RE gets the extra heat - works well in winter climes, where you want the 48RE to be warm and cozy.............
