Eliminating VSS Top Speed of 110mph???
I'm needing to know if there is a way to get rid of the top speed limiter cheaply without spending $120+ for BD's unit? Or something similiar. Free would be great!!!!

Yeh, thats for a used one and I know they only get expensive from there. I thought I read somewhere that you can just cut and splice a switch in one of the wires, but search function here turned up nada, zip, zilch.

With the '03 you need the RAD with speed unlimiter. Even with Smarty my times were .3 to .5 seconds faster with RAD on...but you loose the stock gauges including RPM's unless you have a manual RPM gauge. ks

I turned mine back on the other day in a pull and I hit 3670 RPM on the attitude monitor. The best RPM I ever got W/O it was 3550. What is your highest RPM?

Dan, I never checked RPM to see what it was at Maximum...With Smarty and RAD off I've drifted almost to 3600. On the track I never get to normal max speed of 122mph which is 3500rpm's. ks

The diabo raises the rev limiter to 3650 it seems. I never saw above 3525 on my attitude before but since the diablo I see around 3670 when I check the records now. I can't believe you lose all the stock gauges with the RAd, by turning the key to start you only lose the speedometer.

You lose the speedlimiter all the time with the gauges all working...you only lose the gauges when you turn the Torque Mangement off which is only for racing....and I have a computer controlled tranny so I know exactly when my tranny is shifting when racing. ks

Something interesting is the differences all our trucks have between them. Along with boxes, downloaders ect. there are many differences in levels of performance. I swear I think you could take the same two trucks, right down to the paint put on the same boxes and the same driver and the two different trucks would run different.

Go to the BD website and download the instruction for the eliminator. It will show you which wire to cut to splice in thier box. (I believe it is green with a yellow trace). Just put an on/off switch in place of the BD box and it will shut the speedo completely off and on 325's you can hit 118 on stock RPM's. If you use the BLCL, it will raise the RPM's to 3500 and your top speed will be 128.6 mph. Both speeds recorded via GPS.

On my 03 I can take it to 3500rpm in all gears except for 6th which hits the speed limiter at a 108 as read on the speedo but actually going faster since I have 35's.
I think the computer defuels based on the speedo not rpms in 6th gear. The 3500 rpm doesnt bother me because that would mean 138 mph with 3.73's and 35's.

If you just unplug the ABS harness it will do the same thing and then you can just plug it back in, this way you don't have to cut any wires. You still lose your spedo and gauges.
