You arent going to make it work with the OEM wastegate controller. You can put a dummy sensor in and just use a mechanical wastegate or the boost elbow that is probably on the aftermarket turbo now. You can just use the smarty to turn off the boost control and use the elbow. There is a posting somewhere telling you how to make the dummy sensor or you can buy one from II for 25$ or HTT

i left the electronic w/g solonoid plugged in, in a bag,

i am getting overboost code, at only 38 psi boost. what should i do? does the samarty wastegate option have to do with this? or should i try the resistor?

What wastegate setting are you running on your Smarty? You need it set to "OFF" for the boost fooling.

I know it may sound silly, but are you reloading the SW after you make the change on the Smarty? Other than that, I dont know what to tell you. I have the original solenoid hooked up and have run 60+ PSI with no overboost codes.(my intercooler did throw a overboost code though ) The wastegate setting on the Smarty is supposed to allow you to run as much boost as you can make.
