Electronic High Idle for 03/04 ??
Has anyone found any type of electronic high idle box or controller for a '03/'04 with a manual transmission? My idle "stick" doesn't do a real great job and I want to get something that I can switch on/off easily for cold months. I know in the DMax that you just need to ground a couple pins in the ECM to get different high idle speeds, but it seems that the Dodge/Cummins doesn't have that ability with the dodge electronics. I know there are a couple people that make boxes already for the '03/'04 but it is only for use with the automatic transmission.
I have also sent a message to the boys at Edge to see if this is something that they could possibly program into their new Juice/Attitude since they are already messing around in the ECM/PCM. I think that would be a pretty cool feature if they choose to do it.

I've got the 48RE auto tranny and my truck has the high idle...simply start it up, and as long as it's colder than 32 degrees, within 2 to 3 minutes it idles up from 750 RPM to approximately 1100 RPM. Do the 6-shooters not come standard with that? I was under the understanding that all the 03/04 CTD's came with the high idle already enabled.
The last few mornings it's been well below 25 degrees and the high idle worked like a charm.
By the way, it doesn't just idle up upon start up. When I parked it in the parking lot at work to run in and grab a file, I came back out and found it had high idled up again. Nice!

Xtoak, yeah, our 6-shooters do the same thing. We're waiting on an electronic controller similar to Fords AIC that permits high idling at any time, not just when the engine is cold.
For example - High idle would be nice in the summer to keep the interior chilled with the AC. We'd be hard pressed to have the intake manifold temp below 32F for the ECM to initiate it. There are many instances when high idle would be handy other than in the winter.
By the way, wait til the temps get into the single digits, it will idle up immediately upon start up (mine does, and when it does, usually smokes WHITE too).
