Ive never seen over 1200 when pulling up hill @ wot. I stay between 900-1000 when pulling heavy. My kind of heavy is 12-13k.

With your mods, and depeding upon what the weight and the aerodynomics of the object you are pulling, you will see anywhere from 600 (in the flats) up to 1200-1250 on the up hill pulls. If you see above 1250 don't keep it there for an extended period of time.

I was wondering the same thing. Just drove from Tx to Pa to pick up a car. Egt was 1050 max in the mountains with the diablo tow tune.

My truck is stock with a boost and pyro only.

I pull a 10,000 lb 5th wheel and pull some good grades. Running on the flat at about 60 mph I see about 700*-800*. When I hit grades I generally try to maintain the 58-60 mph but when I see the EGTs start moving up to about 1250* I back out of the throttle to get the EGTs to drop to about 1200*.

Just what I do, you may do it differently.

You can easily run a stock truck up near 1350 while towing, especially while climbing a steep hill. I've had gauges long before I had a module. Once I used quads standard box the egts seem to be lower. I think it is because of the extra power and not needing to push down so hard on the pedal. On flats usually around 1000 degrees.

When I ran stock pulling 8-9K lbs up 6-7% grades I would see 1200-1300* to keep it at 55mph, thats with a auto trans and 3.73 gearing.
Now running with the XZT 65hp tow chip and pulling 15,000lbs up the same grades I can maintain 45-50mph and stay around 1100-1200*. Without the chip I was barely able to maintain 35-40mph and saw EGT's pushing 1300-1400*.
I think once you start pulling over 11,000lbs you better have some kind of help with power/temp managment.

I always hear you can maintain 1350 steadily climbing a hill while towing etc. without any worries. Higher than that won't hurt any thing as long as its only a couple seconds.

My truck without the smarty on it towing my fiver back from vegas I could hit 1500* on a long pull. My trailer weighs 16,000lbs.
