EGTs TOO LOW
Can anyone attempt to troubleshoot why EGTs are so low on my truck. A number of folks have told me if they are too cool that I am not getting the fuel. What can be checked on the truck to find out if I am not getting enough fuel to the injectors. I run a FASS, with the BDPP and Banks Six-Gun. I cannot get more than 1000 degrees on the EGT guage even towing. It is almost like the truck is governed. The guage and probe were switched out once before with new ones. Any suggestions?

Well first is there a problem with power or acceleration when empty or loaded?? I mean do you think SOTP that there is a problem with engine performance or just cant explain why you cant melt the pyro sensor?
With the mods you have I would assume you can pull a house uphill and still pass the Furds in OD. I mean is there a real fueling problem that shows up in another manner on other gauges? Where were the EGTs before mods, were they ever higher?
Just fuel for thought.

EGTs have always been low. Guage and probe have been replaced once. The truck does not seem to have accelleration problems, feels great, runs great, just cant get more than 30LBs max boost and for the life of me cannot get more than 1000 degrees. Everyone I talk to has said that I should be getting way more boost and temp. I also think I should be getting more MPGs out of this setup as well.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Is yours 305/555 or 325/600. I believe that the 305/555s run cooler than the 325/600s.
My 325/600 EGTs will hit 1300 easy with air intake and Banks exhaust, stock otherwise. With the Predator Stage II box I could hit 1450 if I kept WOT.

I have the 305/555 H.O. I don't have a fuel guage yet but I have been told with the FASS installed I can push it pretty hard and not make too much of a difference in the fuel pressure. I would like to be able to see what my fuel rail pressure is but I don't think there is a way to do that, am I right?

I dont know for sure. I have seen posts that people doing box testing have some type of software/hardware that allows them to monitor Rail Pressure on the fly. I dont think that options would be in any of the ODBII type monitors or software. I know my OBDII scanner doesnt have that kind of capibility.
If you up the Banks setting 5 or 6 and use Extreme on BDPP does this change the max EGT as opposed to lower Banks setting and BDPP stock load?

I'd change the fuel filter. That could be clogged. Test the fuel pressure going into the CP3 as well. Dumb question, but is your gauge mounted pre turbo or post turbo? For your engines, sake, I'm hoping pre turbo with those temps. If it's post, then add about 300-400* and you'll get a ball park figure. Also, what temp do you have set for the Banks to defuel on?

Then I have no idea...
Must be gauge related.
With an additional 130 hp or so amount of fuel...I could spike 1500 before 70 mph on a flat accel run.
Propane will cool some...but not that much...IMHO

Yeah, what level are you running on???
Exactly where is your pyro at, Pre, Post, as per Banks?
Does the engine appear to defuel when pushing it hard and then pick back up?
I can get 1250 on my Banks Pyro on level 2 & 3 empty when I get on it and I'm only running the 235hp (Cali) engine setup The Post turbo Pyro will get to about 850.
I have NOT run mine any higher than L3 because I'm happy with perfromance and don't want to GRENADE it.

I have a similar situation in that when empty on a hard run at WOT I can get up to around 1200 degrees. Idle is 400-450 degrees and normal cruising is 8-900 degrees. I towed about 11000lb the other day and the truck ran nice and cool and I couldn't get it to go over 1000 degrees. I was not at WOT but pulling a long hill and accellerating and that's where I got my highest temp. My normal temp that trip was also 8-900 degrees at 65mph.
Maybe we just have cool running trucks.
