EGT TC Install location

EGT TC Install location
So, I am installing most (if not all) gauges this weekend.
I have the boost bolt, banjo bolt, and mass diesel trans line on order and are due late this week. I went with the autometer NV series. I will be switching pressure between oil, boost, and fuel. Switching temp between Water, trans, and diff. Only the pyro will be dedicated.
Anyway, I want the pyro pre-turbo, in the exhaust manifold. I've heard some installing it near the turbo flange, and others near cylinder #5. What's the consensus? FYI...I will be going through the extra effort of removing the manifold, just to ensure I don't get any shavings into the turbo, so placement from an install perspective is not an issue.
TIA
Tony

I'll post this pic for you to see where Edge recommends the thermocouple to be placed right out of their manual. This does two things for you. The first is it gives you an idea of how hundreds have done it including me and the other guys that have responded to your thread and the second is the people who think this is wrong and it should be on the rear cylinders, for reasons they have not given good understanding of yet, will post other pics of locations for you to choose. Good luck.
