EGT guage probe installation Photos - manifold

I'd thought a few photos of my installation of the probe in the manifold (step by step style) would be handy for some of you. It was easy to do and didn't take so long once I got all the tools needed. After some research and ease of location I installed in the manifold as shown.

See photos here (w/comments):

Now I'm not so worried about the use of the EZ Edge on setting 3. Unloaded daily driving is below 1000*.

Also note the tools used here are for sale in "My Classified Ads!" area.

Looks nice. Where did you get the Mopar pyro. I've never seen one of those. I'm running Dipricols.

I got lucky and found the Mopar pyro (new) on ebay and won the bid for $117.00. Also, got the Ram STR-10 pillar new for $37.00 on ebay too. They fit nice and have the right look for the truck.

Am I missing something or is that being tapped with the turbo bolted in place?
Mine is post turbo... so I have no idea here - but is all that concern about metal shavings through the turbo a myth?

Does it matter if it's before the turbo or after the turbo? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm new to this stuff.

What are your EGTs now that the gauge is in? Mine is about the same location. I can easily hit 1450 empty and WOT and stay in it.

I have added afe Magnum Force Stage II air intake, torque tube and Predator Stage II module.

Hell, I even dropped some BB's in the hole just to hear some pinging & tinging noises from the turbo - pretty cool. After a 12-pack I start to take risk. Turbos are replacable. No, really, read the captions from my photos. The turbo stayed put and all shavings can be removed from the hole.

Same here. I can hit 1,450 empty w/the pedal mashed to the floor. But that only last for a few seconds (unless I'm running from the fuzz again).

For those who wanted to see the night time photos of the gage - they've been uploaded now. Not the best images but that's about the best I could get.

Yes, Autometer is the maker and I'd say it's most like their ultra lite series. I'm happy with the quality and finish of this unit. It gives a vary quick reading when mounted in the manifold - moves about the same as the tach does. The light isn't as good as the gauges in the dash. This just has one backlight and doesn't have that nice illuminated look (as stock). Overall - I'd buy it again.
